Potteiger, 41, of 2965 Valley View Road, Sharpsville, Pa., formerly of Annville, died Saturday, December 1, 2007, in his residence. Born in Philadelphia on February 4, 1966, he was the son of John S. and Roseann Funk Potteiger. He was the self-employed owner of Joker's Den, a sports memorabilia business. Prior to that he taught industrial arts at Reynolds High School in Greenville, Pa. Jim was a 1984 graduate of Annville- Cleona High School, where he played on the 1983 Varsity Basketball Team which was the first team in school history to advance to the PIAA State Playoffs, and in 1984, he received the team's Most Valuable Player Award. In 1990, he graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with degree in industrial arts. He was an avid sports enthusiast and golfer, a die hard New York Mets fan, and the best big brother ever. Surviving in addition to his parents are a sister Jayne R., wife of Randy L. Lane of Hummelstown; and several cousins, aunts, and uncles. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. from the Kreamer Funeral Home, 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12-1 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the "Field of Dreams" Lighting Campaign, C/O Glenn Beidler, treasurer, Annville Youth League Corp., 214 E. Chestnut Street, Cleona, PA 17042.
