  Russell A. Rhodes LEBANON Russell A. Rhodes, 99, of 2420 Long Lane, Lebanon, 
  died Friday, December 21, 2007, at ManorCare Health Services. He was born May 
  26, 1908, in Linville, Va., a son of the late Jacob L. and Agnes Hosaflook 
  Rhodes. He was an active member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, where he 
  had served as Sunday school teacher, treasurer and other positions. He was a 
  U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 3257th Signal Service 
  Co. He was proud to have served in the ETO. He was a foreman at the former 
  Steffy Shoe Company. He was a life memberof the Ebenezer Fire Company. 
  Surviving are daughter Patricia, spouse of Charles S. "Bud" Beard of Lebanon; 
  brother Jacob Rhodes of Lebanon; grandchildren Randy Rhodes, Susan Bixler, 
  Cynthia Peffley, Kimberly Everett, Sherie Fulmer, Beth Hoffert, Gregory Beard, 
  Steven Beard, and Jenny Englehart; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-
  greatgrandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in 
  death by wife Ella C. Levan Rhodes, son R. Darwin Rhodes, two brothers and four 
  sisters. Viewing is scheduled for Thursday, December 27, 2007, from 11 a.m.-1 
  p.m. at Christman's Funeral Home Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon, followed 
  by services at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Ebenezer "Covenant" Cemetery. Memorials 
  can be sent to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 1776 Route 72 North, Lebanon, 
  PA 17046.
