"Jim" Shreiner Sr., 77, of Penryn passed away on October 14, 2007, at Hospice of Lancaster County. Born in Elm, he was the son of the late William N. and Emma Hackman Shreiner, and the husband for 53 years of Kathryn Irvin Shreiner, Penryn. Jim was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Schaefferstown, where he was a member of the consistory and also served as a Sunday school teacher. He also served on the Penn Township Zoning Board, and was a member of Lititz Springs VFW Post No. 1463, Reinholds VFW Post 1560, Denver American Legion, Garden Spot Post No. 56 American Legion, Lititz, USS Point Cruz CVE 199 Association, Penn Township Zoning Board, Penryn Fire Co., and a life member of the Manheim Sportsman's Club and the Lanco Micro Midget Racing Club. Jim served aboard the USS Point Cruz in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was an avid Phillies fan and loved hunting in Potter County. In 1995, he retired as a senior vice president and cashier from Farmers First Bank, Lititz. Following his retirement he was employed for two years by Manheim Central School District. A 1948 graduate of Lititz High School, he attended Franklin & Marshall College, and took banking classes from the University of Wisconsin and Rutgers. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, James H. Jr., husband of Karen Shreiner, Manheim; daughter, Julia Ann Stallman, Penryn; grandchildren, Lindsey and Mollie Shreiner and Heather and Kevin Stallman; and a brother, Raymond H. Shreiner, Manheim. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Schaefferstown, on Friday, October 19, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen E. Ericson officiating. There will be a viewing at Richard H. Heisey Funeral Home, 216 S. Broad St., Lititz, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Penryn Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard. Contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice of Lancaster County, P O.
