LEBANON John Shultz Sr., 86, Spang Crest Manor, Lebanon, died on November 22, 2007. He was married for 57 years to the late Esther A. (Scott) Shultz. Born in Colver, Pa., December 29, 1920. He was the son of the late John Shultz and Suzanne Paranic. He was a union projectionist in Lebanon during the 1940s through the 60s. He later became the house electrician at the old Hershey Park Arena. He also held the position of business agent for Local No. 98 of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees for HarrisburgHershey- Carlisle for many years. He received his union gold card in May 1989 for 50 years of union service. John was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and a member of the Mt. Lebanon Lodge No. 226, F. & A.M. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the pacific as a nose gunner on a B-24 bomber. He is survived by daughters Catherine A. Rein of New York, New York, Linda S. Childers and her husband Joseph Childers Jr. of Plymouth Meeting, Pa.; sons John Shultz Jr. and his wife Donna (True) Shultz, and Michael D. Shultz and his wife Lisa (Tobias) Shultz of Lebanon; sisters Anne Heverling of Lebanon and Julia Heagy of Hanover, Maryland; nine grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Suzanne Carpenter of Lebanon. A viewing will be held on Monday, November 26, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Christman's Funeral Home, 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon. A memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 27, at 9:45 a.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Sixth and Chestnut streets, Lebanon, with interment following the service at Fort Indiantown Gap Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Sixth and Chestnut streets, Lebanon, PA 17042; or The John Shultz Sr. Graduate Fellowship in Labor Studies, Penn State University, Attention: Marilyn Byers, 138 Sparks Building, University Park, PA 16802.
