  Dorothea K. Swank CALIFORNIA Dorothea K. Swank, 89, of Brittany House, 5401 
  East Centralia St., Long Beach, Calif., passed away on Monday, October 8, 2007, 
  at her residence. She was the wife of the late Col. Walter D. Swank who passed 
  away in 2001. Born in Vancouver Barracks, Wash., on June 25, 1918, she was the 
  daughter of the late Gen. Charles P. and Eleanor Hubach Gross. Dorothy was a 
  member of the Indiantown Gap Chapel, the Linglestown Women's Club, and the 
  Indiantown Gap Women's Club. She enjoyed walking, gardening, playing bridge, 
  golfing, bowling, solving crossword puzzles and feeding wild birds. Surviving 
  are a son Lawrence D. Swank and wife Marie of Pacific Grove, Calif.; and a 
  daughter Sandra S. Spalding and husband James of Palos Verdes Peninsula, 
  Calif.; a brother John E. Gross and wife Diane of Cliffside Park, N.J.; and 
  grandchildren Chelsea Swank and Stephanie Spalding. She was preceded in death 
  by a brother Harley Gross, sisters Lucy Dick and Nancy Cole, and granddaughter 
  Jennifer Spalding. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the 
  Kreamer Funeral Home, 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be in 
  Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10-10:30 a.m. In 
  lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3544 
  N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
