Wartluft, 82, formerly of West Carpenter Avenue, Myerstown, died Sunday, October 7, 2007, at the E.C.C. Retirement Village- Albright Campus, Myerstown. He was the husband of the late Grace D. Miller Wartluft who died July 19, 1999. Born in Jackson Township, Pa., on January 12, 1925, he was the son of the late Thomas and Violet Sharp Wartluft. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked at Loose Lumber Yard, Myerstown, for 15 years before working at Sterling Drug Co., Myerstown, where he worked for 18 years. He was a member of Tulpehocken UCC, Richland, and enjoyed bowling, golfing and dancing. He is survived by daughter, Marsha, wife of Henry Hacker Jr. of Myerstown; son, Brian, husband of Barbara Wartluft of Easton; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; stepsister, Marilyn, wife of George Early of Palmyra; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Warren Wartluft. A graveside service will be held Friday, October 12, 2007, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. A procession will be formed in the parking lot of Friedens Lutheran Church, 301 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, on Friday at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3544 North Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
