HERSHEY Donald Wolfe, 76, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2007, at his home near Knoxville. Born June 22, 1931, in Sand Beach, Pa., north of Hershey, he was the youngest of five children of Walter E. and Mervie (Snyder) Wolfe. Retired from Yellow Freight in Lancaster, Pa., he was also a long-time Palmyra businessman, running a Texaco service station with his brother, Guy, which was started by their father in the 1920s, and operating a laundromat and restaurant with his wife, Charlotte (Lottie). He was a member of the Palmyra Brethren-in-Christ Church. After retiring to Port Charlotte, Fla., in 1993, he moved to Lenoir City in 2003, where he was a Transport for Christ (TFC) chaplain. He began volunteering for TFC in 1986 when the organization located their first chapel at a Grantville truckstop. Until a stroke in 2006, he and his wife traveled in their motorhome and attended gospel hymn sings. Surviving are his wife Charlotte (Stanton) of Lenoir City, Tenn.; three children, Glenn (Sue) of High Bridge, N.J., Kay Gerber (Daryl) of Palmyra, and, Douglas (Marta) of St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings Eleanor Wolfe, Guy Wolfe, Estella Shirk and Mary Elliott. Visitation will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home, 25 W. Pine Street, Palmyra, Pa. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home. Interment Gravel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Transport for Christ or Kenbrook Bible Camp.
