  Allen M. Artz Jr., 85, of Myerstown, Pa., died Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at 
  the VA Medical Center, Lebanon, Pa. He was the husband of Annie L. (Royer) 
  Artz, to whom he was married 61 years on April 19. Born in Lebanon, Pa., on 
  April 1, 1923, he was the son of the late Allen M. Artz Sr., and Nora Ellen 
  (Stickler) Artz Reppert. He was a 1941 graduate of Lebanon High School, and 
  served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He had been part owner of 
  Rich Maid Kitchens, Wernersville, Pa., for many years. He attended Lebanon 
  Valley Bible Church, Lebanon, Pa., and enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery and 
  model airplanes. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Carol, 
  wife of Barry Matthews of Myerstown, Pa.; and sons Don, husband of Elizabeth 
  Artz of Lebanon, Pa., Joel ,husband of Cindy Artz of Manheim, Pa., and Robert, 
  husband of Barbara Artz of Denver, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; four great-
  grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Showers of Myerstown, Pa.; a step-sister, 
  Barbara, wife of Eugene Lessig of Myerstown; and three nieces. He was preceded 
  in death by a brother, John Artz. Funeral services will be held Monday, 
  November 10, 2008, at 8 p.m. from Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., 
  Myerstown, Pa. Viewing Monday at 7 p.m. Interment will be at the convenience of 
  the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lebanon 
  Valley Bible Church, 1482 Horseshoe Pike, Lebanon, PA 17042; or Lebanon Bible 
  Fellowship Church, 1635 Mill Road, Lebanon, PA 17042.
