Atkins, 89, of 304 Klein Ave., Lebanon, died Saturday, January 26, 2008, in ManorCare Health Services. He was born July 27, 1918, in Lebanon, a son of the late J. Stanley and Florence R. Hill Atkins. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a retired metallurgist for the Bethlehem Steel Co., Lebanon, and member of the Lebanon VFW Post No. 23. Surviving are nephews Thomas K. Atkins, Karl E. Atkins, and Robert H. Kleiser; and niece Mary L. Cronan; and four grandnephews; and six grandnieces. He was preceded in death by wife Mary C. Ziegler Atkins on Nov. 24, 1993, brother Thomas E. Atkins and sister C. Elizabeth Burns. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, from 10-11 a.m. in Christman's Funeral Home Inc., 226 Cumberland St., followed by services at 11 a.m. Burial in Mt.
