  Behrendt Jr., Emil Carl   
   
  Emil Carl Behrendt Jr., 70, of Ephrata, Pa., formerly of Lebanon, Pa., died on 
  Saturday, November 15, 2008, at Ephrata Manor after a short illness. He was the 
  husband of Lucille E. (Gerberich) Behrendt, and the son of the late Emil C. 
  Behrendt Sr. and Stella (Neisuender) Behrendt. Emil was born in Hershey, Pa., 
  and was a longtime resident of Lebanon, Pa. He was employed at Millard's Quarry 
  in Annville, Pa., as a heavy equipment operator for many years. He had resided 
  in Ephrata for the past four years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 
  two sons, Nathaniel D., husband of Ann (Neff) Behrendt of Seven Valleys, Pa., 
  and Joshua M. Behrendt of Lebanon, Pa.; a daughter, Elisabeth R., wife of 
  Josiah Martin of Elizabethtown, Pa.; and a sister, Rose, wife of William Massar 
  of Palmyra, Pa. Emil was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley. Friends will 
  be received from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2008, at Gravenor Home 
  For Funerals, 100 W. Main St., Ephrata, Pa. Memorial services will follow at 11 
  a.m. with the Rev. Mark Rains officiating. Interment will be private at the 
  convenience of the family.
