Bennett, Harlan Dixie Harlan Dixie Bennett PALMYRA Harlan Dixie Bennett, 88, of West Maple Street, Palmyra, died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at his home surrounded by his family. Born July 11, 1919, in Cherry Grove, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Edward and Luella (Whitecotton) Bennett. He retired with 37 years service from Hershey Foods Corporation, was a member and usher of Church of the Holy Spirit, Palmyra, and a member of St. Lawerence Lodge No. 13 and Bakers and Confectionary Union Local 464. He was the widower of Eva M. (Annibali) Bennett, who died October 12, 2005, and was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Bennett, and sister Maggie Huffman. Surviving are children Edward H. Bennett of Palmyra and Victoria M. May of Annville; brothers Ralph Lamb of Cumberland, Maryland, and John Bennett of Trevose; seven grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9 a.m.Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Church of the Holy Spirit, 245 West Pine Street, Palmyra. Viewing 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra. Burial will be in Hershey Cemetery.
