  Emma K. Boyer, 92, formerly of Guilford Street, Lebanon, passed away peacefully 
  surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, September 11, 2008, in Cedar 
  Haven. She was the wife of the late Sterling C. Boyer. She was born August 16, 
  1916, in Lebanon, a daughter of the late Sherman and Katie Hetrick Emerich. 
  Emma was a member of St. Mark's U.C.C., Lebanon, and the Northern Lebanon 
  Senior Center. She retired from the VA Medical Center, Lebanon, where she was a 
  dietitian for 20 years. Emma enjoyed taking bus trips, cooking and baking. She 
  is survived by daughters Shirley, wife of Charles Darkes of Lebanon, Judith, 
  wife of Gary Lowe of Lebanon; nine grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; one 
  greatgreat-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in 
  death by a son, Larry L. Boyer; brother Clayton Emerich; and sisters June 
  Donten and Verna Brunner. Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at the 
  Rohland Funeral Home Inc., 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, with a viewing 
  beginning at 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment in Grand View 
  Memorial Park, Annville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. 
  Mark's U.C.C., 426 N. Eighth St., Lebanon, PA 17042; or Cedar Haven, 590 S. 
  Fifth Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042.
