Brasher, 91, formerly of Tower City died Monday at Lebanon VA Medical Center. Born in Shelby, Alabama, December 28, 1916, a son of the late Samuel and Rosa Carden Brasher. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. Jim's greatest joys were spending time with his family, especially going on family bike rides and playing checkers, Jim was a retired diesel mechanic with Conrail Railroad. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Lucy Loncosky Brasher, Nov. 29, 2007; a son, Samuel, April 10, 2007; three sisters; and three brothers. Surviving are two daughters, Lucy Frances Fesig and her husband, Clyde, Edna Rose Rupp and her husband, John, both of Jonestown; two sons, James C. Brasher and wife Lisa and Tony Brasher, both of Tower City; daughter-in-law Melissa Shuey Brasher of Tower City; a sister, Myranell Carter of Alabama; 16 grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from the chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. at chapel.
