"Pop" Brightbill, 87, of Lebanon died Wednesday, January 2, 2008, at ECC RetirementStoneRidge Campus, Myerstown. He was born March 27, 1920, in Greble, a son of the late Hiram P. and Hannah D. Breidenstine Brightbill. He was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a painter at the VA Medical for 30 years, a school bus driver for Fortna Transportation, and had owned his own house painting business. He enjoyed Pennsylvania Dutch at the Grundsow Lodge and was an auto racing fan. Surviving are children Raymond K., spouse of Susan Brightbill, Barbara Ann, spouse of David Weiser, and Cynthia, spouse of Timothy Putt Sr., all of Lebanon; brother Richard Brightbill of Lebanon; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Lavenia B. " Nan" Drye Brightbill on Nov. 9, 2005. Viewing is scheduled for Monday, January 7, 2008, from 10-11 a.m. at Hebron United Methodist Church, Fifth Avenue and East Walnut Street, Lebanon, followed by services at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Ebenezer "Greenwood" Cemetery. Memorials can be sent to VISOR Association at VA Medical Center, 1700 S. Lincoln Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042. Christman's Funeral Home Inc. has been entrusted to handle arrangements.
