Bross, 76, of 8260 Lancaster Ave., Bethel, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008, in ManorCare, Lebanon. She was born January 31, 1931, in South Lebanon Township, Lebanon County, a daughter of the late Henry W. and Hilda Gibble Patches. Prior to her marriage, she was employed at the South Lebanon School, working in the cafeteria. She was a member of the Midway Church of the Brethren, Lebanon, where she sang in the church choir for 58 years. She also sang in a quartet with her husband, brother and sister-in-law and women's octet. She formulated visitations by church members to the elderly and members in need. She enjoyed cooking, baking and working in her flower bed at her residence. She is survived by her husband Elmer L. Bross of 55 years; a son, Burnell B. Bross, Bethel; brother, Kermit, husband of Beatrice Patches, Lititz. She was preceded in death by sisters, Erma Patches, June Wolgemuth Shelley; brothers, Wayne Patches and Henry Patches. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Midway Church of the Brethren, 13 Evergreen Road, Lebanon, Pa., with a viewing beginning on Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment will be made in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 1263, Lebanon, PA 17042. Clauser Funeral Home Inc. is handling the arrangements.
