Brubaker, 88, of 520 Sheridan Road, Womelsdorf, died Friday, September 5, 2008, in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading. He was the husband of Susie B. Horst Brubaker, with whom he was married to for 67 years. He was born July 16, 1920, in Myerstown, a son of the late Levi and Leah Bauman Brubaker. He was a farmer, and later in life, he was employed for 18 years at Rigidply Rafters Inc., Richland. George was a member of the Martin's Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference, where he served as a preacher for 42 years. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons Earl L., husband of Minerva Martin Brubaker of Loysville, Mervin Lee, husband of Rhoda Shirk Brubaker of Womelsdorf, George Jr., husband of Rebecca F. Hoover Brubaker of Landisburg; daughters Lena Mae, wife of Allen Weaver, Anna Mary, wife of Marvin H. Hoover, and Sarah Ellen, wife of Melvin N. Zimmerman, all of Womelsdorf, Arlene H., wife of Walter Horst of Newmanstown, Joann H., wife of Reuben O. Martin of Myerstown, Susan Jane, wife of Daniel L. Horst of Ephrata; 58 grandchildren; 171 greatgrandchildren; sister Lena, wife of Harold Fox of East Earl. He was preceded in death by brothers Harry, Alvin, Allen and William Brubaker; sisters Nancy Miller, Mabel Kilmer and Eva Beiler. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Martin's Mennonite Church, Church Road, Womelsdorf. Friends may call on Tuesday from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fairview Mennonite Reception Center, Jackson Road, Lebanon. Please omit flowers.
