Carvell, 98, of Richland died Monday, February 11, 2008, at Spang Crest Manor Lebanon, Pa. Born June 8, 1909, in Richland, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Ellen Bickel Seibert. She was a 1927 graduate of Myerstown High School and graduated magna cumlada from Albright College, where she earned numerous degrees, including four master's degrees. She was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa of the college. She had been a school teacher for 55 years, teaching in the Tulpehocken School District, Manheim Township School District, and Penn Manor School District. She was a member of Tulpehocken UCC, Richland, where she was active in the Busy Bees and Womens Guild, and taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of Farm Womens Group No. 5, Marion Senior Citizens, The Dutch Breakfast Group, and the Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by a daughter Carolyn, wife of Frank Vidia of Bethel, Pa.; a son Glenn, husband of Suzanne Carvell of Clearwater, Florida; a sister Pearl, widow of Leroy Miller of Richland; grandsons Ronald Carvell of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Thomas Rex Jr. of Bridgeport, Pa.; granddaughters Tonya, wife of David Reinbold of King of Prussia, Pa.; Jodi, wife of John Ruzecki of St. Petersburg, Florida, Dawn Rex of Cape May, New Jersey; 10 greatgrandchildren; 14 greatgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Selas Seibert, in August 1998. Services will be held Thursday, February 14, 2008, at 11 a.m. from Tulpehocken UCC, 961 Tulpehocken Road, Richland, Pa. Viewing Wednesday from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, Pa., and on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment in adjoining church cemetery.
