Chambers Sr., 59, of South Lingle Avenue, Palmyra, died Sunday, November 2, 2008, in the Lebanon VA Medical Center Hospice. Born September 7, 1949, in West Chester, he was a son of Gladys G. (Wooldridge) Chambers of Campbelltown, and the late Hilton C. Chambers. He owned and operated Chambers Painting, was a Vietnam U.S. Army veteran, and a member of the American Legion Post 945, Harrisburg. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Wilson) Chambers; children Danielle Messmer of Florida, Michelle Weaver of Lebanon, Rose Wright of Florida, Jerry Chambers Jr. of Hershey, and Dwaine Chambers of Lebanon; siblings Fred Chambers of Delaware, Jane Rodeback of Lawn, George Chambers of Palmyra, Frank Chambers of Annville, Joyce Gable of Shunk, Patricia Lewis of Palmyra, and Ronald Chambers of Harrisburg; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Chambers of West Chester. Graveside services, with military honors, will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2008, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 South Lincoln Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042; or to the American Lung Association, 3001 Old Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
