"Luke" Crawford, 78, formerly of 182 Crooked Hill Road, Hummelstown, died Tuesday, January 29, 2008, in the Community General Osteopathic Hospital. He is the husband of Grace P. (Nester) Crawford. He was born on December 5, 1929, in Hummelstown to Albert and Leola McCoy Crawford. Luke retired after 43 years from the wrapping department of Hershey Chocolate Company. He is a member of the Church of the Redeemer, United Church of Christ in Hershey, a member of the Local Chocolate Worker's Union 464 and the American Legion Post 0386, Hershey. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, bird watching, hunting, fishing and bowling. Surviving him in addition to his wife Grace are his children, son Paul A. Crawford and his wife Toni of Lebanon; daughters Karen L. Cumberledge and her husband Gaylord of New Cumberland, LuAnn K. Taschek and her husband Stephen of Palmyra and Barbara D. Crawford of Hershey; grandchildren Stephen Michael, Troy, Austyn and Prestyn; sisters Pauline Wagner and Mary Lee Gregory, both of Hummelstown, and Betty Wyrick of Palmyra; brothers John and Richard Crawford, both of Hummelstown. He is preceded in death by brothers Frank, Charles and William Crawford; and sisters Dorothy Rife and Margaret Nornhold. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time for viewing on Friday, February 1, 2008, from 6-8 p.m. at the Rothermel Funeral Home Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra. His funeral will be at the funeral home on Saturday, February 2, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. with the hour prior for viewing. The Rev. Betsy Bruaw will officiate. Burial will be in the Hershey Cemetery.
