  Melvin S. Daniels, age 91, of South Tulpehocken Street, Pine Grove, passed away 
  on Monday, May 12, in ManorCare, Pottsville. Born on July 10, 1916, in Valley 
  View, he was the son of the late Stanford and Vertie Klinger Daniels. He was a 
  1934 graduate of Tremont High School, and had been employed as a trimmer for 
  the former Fox-Knapp Mfg. in Pine Grove. He was a member of the Methodist 
  church. Preceding him in death were his wife, Esther I. Noll Daniels, on Dec. 
  12, 1988; a son, Robert M. Daniels in 2003; two brothers, Marlin Daniels, 
  Howard Daniels; and a sister, Vivian Shepler. Surviving are a grandson, Jeffrey 
  Daniels of York; one sister, June Huber of Las Vegas; several nieces and 
  nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 16, 2008, at 1 p.m. in 
  the H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with Dr. Ira C. Lydic 
  officiating. There will be a viewing on Friday from noon until 1 p.m. in the 
  funeral home. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, West Wood 
  Street, Pine Grove.
