Miriam B. Davidon, 88, of Mt. Gretna died Friday May 23, 2008, in Cornwall Manor. She was the wife of the late Dr. Robert S. Davidon, who died in November of 2005. Born in Philadelphia to Mendel and Gertrude Boonin, she graduated with honors from Upper Darby High School in 1937. She went on to earn bachelor's and master's degrees at Temple University. She was a dedicated elementary school teacher for 25 years. She taught at the Worrall School in Broomall, Pa., and Cleona Elementary, where she retired in 1982. Miriam was an avid reader, history enthusiast, world traveler and Francophile. She was active in the League of Women Voters and the Mental Health Association of Lebanon County. Surviving are sons Richard B. Davidon of Los Angeles, Calif., and Stephen J. Davidon of Philadelphia, Pa. She was predeceased by her brother, Nathaniel Boonin. Memorial services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Kreamer Funeral Home, 618 E. Main St., Annville, PA 17003. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the League of Women Voters or the Mental Health Association of Lebanon County. Published in the Lebanon Daily News on 5/27/2008.
