  Elizabeth M. DeAngelo, 91, of 2200 First Ave., Providence Place, Pottsville, 
  Pa., died Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at the Schuylkill Medical Center, 
  Pottsville, Pa. She was the wife of the late Woodrow DeAngelo. Born September 
  4, 1917, in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late John P. and Elizabeth 
  Ernst Birli. She was a retired secretary for City Engineers for 20 years. She 
  was a member of St. Mary's Church, Lebanon, where she was a lector, a choir 
  member, and also a member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women. She was a 
  volunteer at the local hospital. She enjoyed baking and reading. Surviving are 
  two children, Audrey Helen, wife of James R. Bender of Orwigsburg, Pa., and 
  Joseph B. DeAngelo Sr. of Bernville, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Audrey M. Smith, 
  Amy Jarema, Beth A. Bennecoff, Dr. James J. Bender, Thomas J. Bender, Joseph 
  DeAngelo, and J.B. DeAngelo; four great-grandchildren, Nicole M. Cirrincione, 
  Tyler C. Miles, Ryan G. Miles, and Ella K. Bennecoff; several nieces and 
  nephews. She was the last of her immediate family. Preceded in death by two 
  sisters and one brother. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at 10 a.m. from St. 
  Mary's Church, 2 N. Eighth St., Lebanon, PA 17046. Interment at St. Gertrude's 
  Cemetery, Lebanon. Viewing hours Saturday morning 8:309:30 at Thompson Funeral 
  Home Inc., 126 S. Ninth St., Lebanon. Memorial contributions may be made to St. 
  Mary's Church.
