Died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008. She was born Sept. 27, 1920, in Hershey, Pa., to Landis and Emma (Doutrich) Tice, and moved to Florida 28 years ago from Maryland. Mrs. Deaven was a secretary for Martin-Marietta. She liked working in her garden, enjoyed baking and loved to travel. She was an Episcopalian. Survivors include her husband, Russell Deaven of Spring Hill; two sons, James Deaven of Annville, Pa., and Jay Deaven of Haverhill, Mass; one daughter, Kay Thomas of Homosassa, Fla.; three brothers, Herbert Tice of Middleburg, Pa., Roy Tice of Palmyra, Pa., and Landis Tice of Myerstown, Pa.; two sisters, Beulah Kennie of San Diego, Calif., and Margaret Miller of Summerdale, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer Research Fund or hospice. Memorial service 4 p.m. 29 March 2008 at Fishburn United Methodist Church.
