Miller shabodeho@aol.com July 25, 2008, 10:56 pm Published in the Lebanon Daily News on 7/16/2008 Dupler, Gertrude Mary Ellenberger Gertrude Mary Ellenberger Dupler, 90, of Jonestown Road, Grantville, died Sunday, July 13, 2008, as the result of an automobile accident. Born September 18, 1917, in North Annville Township, Lebanon County, she was a daughter of the late John Mark and Bessie Rebecca (Brough) Ellenberger. She graduated from Annville High School, received her R.N. degree from the former Bryn Mawr Hospital School of Nursing, and her B.S. in nursing from Lebanon Valley College, Annville. She was in the U.S. Navy Nursing Corps during World War II, serving in hospitals in Philadelphia, San Diego, and the Pacific Theatre. Trudi also did private duty nursing, and worked at the Merck Institute for Therapeutic Research in Rahway, New Jersey. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, East Hanover Autumn Leaves, Shellsville VFW Post 9639, and the Historical Society of East Hanover Township. Surviving are her husband, Samuel Curry Dupler Sr.; children Nan L. Papp, wife of Edward J. Papp of Ridley Park, Samuel C. Dupler Jr., husband of Barbara J. (Larsen) Dupler of Grantville, John P. Dupler, husband of Debra K. (Still) Dupler of Hummelstown, and Robert E. Dupler, husband of Paula Michele (Orr) Dupler of Grantville; grandchildren Bessie R. (Papp) DiFilippo, wife of Dean V. DiFilippo, Joseph R. Papp, Edward J. Papp, Jason M. Dupler, husband of Rebecca K. (Shiffler) Dupler, Kelly L. (Dupler) Holland, wife of Eric P. Holland, Candice A. Dupler, Rachel M. Dupler, Sarah D. Dupler, and Joshua P. Dupler; greatgrandchildren Marissa A. DiFilippo, Hannah P. DiFilippo, Evan R. Dupler, and Caitlin E. Holland; stepgrandchildren Mark E. Papp and Michael S. Papp; step-greatgranddaughter Sarah A. Papp; and brother E. Earl Ellenberger of Annville. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2008, at St. John's United Methodist Church, 165 Firehouse Road, Grantville, preceded by a viewing from 8:30 a.m. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
