Miller shabodeho@aol.com September 21, 2008, 9:52 pm Published in the Lebanon Daily News on 9/9/2008 Dupler Sr., Samuel Curry Samuel Curry Dupler Sr., 91, of Jonestown Road, Grantville, died Saturday, September 6, 2008, at HealthSouth Regional Specialty Hospital, Mechanicsburg, from complications of an automobile accident. Born August 11, 1917, in Middletown, he was a son of the late George Miller and Mary Kreider (Curry) Dupler. He graduated from Hershey High School, and retired as a printer from The Hershey Company, with 46 years of service. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific Theatre (Sydney, Port Moresby-Nadzab, Hollandia, Sansopor, Leyte and Manilla) with the 1881st Engineer Aviation Battalion. He attended St. John's United Methodist Church, Grantville, and was a member of Hershey American Legion, Chocolate Workers Union Local 464, East Hanover Autumn Leaves, and the Historical Society of East Hanover Township. He was the widower of Gertrude M. (Ellenberger) Dupler, who died July 13, 2008. Surviving are his children, Nan L. Papp, wife of Edward J. Papp of Ridley Park, Samuel C. Dupler Jr., husband of Barbara J. (Larsen) Dupler of Grantville, John P. Dupler, husband of Debra K. (Still) Dupler of Hummelstown, and Robert E. Dupler, husband of Paula Michele (Orr) Dupler of Grantville; grandchildren Bessie R. (Papp) DiFilippo, wife of Dean V. DiFilippo, Joseph R. Papp, Edward J. Papp, Jason M. Dupler, husband of Rebecca K. (Shiffler) Dupler, Kelly L. (Dupler) Holland, wife of Eric P. Holland, Candice A. Dupler, Rachel M. (Dupler) Harding, wife of Stephen D. Harding, Sarah D. Dupler, and Joshua P. Dupler; greatgrandchildren Marissa A. DiFilippo, Hannah P. DiFilippo, Evan R. Dupler, and Caitlin E. Holland; stepgrandchildren Mark E. Papp and Michael S. Papp; step-greatgranddaughter Sara A. Papp; sisters Margaret I. Dupler of New Oxford and Ann L. Phillips, widow of John W. Phillips of Palmyra. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, September 11, 2008, at St. John's United Methodist Church, 165 Firehouse Road, Grantville. Viewings will be held 7 – 9 p.m. Wednesday, and 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Thursday, both at the church. Burial, with military honors, will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
