Miller shabodeho@aol.com November 15, 2008, 10:23 am Published in the Lebanon Daily News on 10/22/2008 Evans, Harriet "Lyn" Harriet "Lyn" Evans, 70, of Hershey went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 21, 2008, in her home. Born March 29, 1938, in Lebanon, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Luella M. and Grant H. Batdorf. Lyn was retired from the Pennsylvania State Police, where she worked for 22 years as a clerical supervisor at the academy in Hershey. She was a 1957 graduate of Palmyra High School where, as a senior, she was voted Class Clown and Best Dancer. Lyn was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Hershey, and a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Palmyra. She was also a member of the Hershey Italian Lodge. An avid music lover, she enjoyed entertaining folks and performing throughout her life. She is survived by her daughter, Sherri L. Farr, and her husband, William; and granddaughter Jennifer of Hershey. Also surviving are her sister, Susan Bennett, wife of Edward of Palmyra. She was preceded in death by her brother, Phillip C. Batdorf. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 24th, at 11 a.m. in All Saints Episcopal Church, Elm and Valley Road, Hershey. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hershey. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra, following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region, 1500 North Second Street, Suite H, Harrisburg, PA 17102.
