Fake, 85, of South College Street, Palmyra, died Thursday, June 26, 2008, in his home. Born December 5, 1922, in Palmyra, he was a son of the late Edward and Naomi (Wagner) Fake. He was a retired selfemployed building contractor, a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Palmyra, and was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II serving with the 12th and 15th Air Force in Africa. He was a top turret gunner on a B-26 Bomber, flying in 40 missions. Surviving are his wife, Arlene B. (Funck) Fake; daughters Nancy Boltz of Colora, Maryland, and Lois Bashore of Mechanicsburg; sister Ethel Funck of Palmyra; brothers Robert Fake of Palmyra and Alvin Fake of Ocala, Florida; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra, preceded by a visitation from 1 p.m. Burial with military honors will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
