"Sis" Fernsler, age 97, died on September 12, 2008, at the Lebanon Valley Home, where she was a resident since May. Born March 30, 1911, to Bertha (Shuey) and Grant Soliday, she grew up in Lebanon and graduated from Independent Borough High School. She married Sam Fernsler and moved to Annville to the Fernsler farm in the 1930's, lived there for 40 years and later moved to Mt. Gretna where she enjoyed gardening, hosting family gatherings, and entertaining friends. After 25 years, she moved back to Annville and became the first resident of Kindred Place. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Samuel K.; a daughter Amy Greenawalt; a grandson, Craig Light; two brothers, Robert and Grant Sterling Soliday, and a sister Lillian Albright. Surviving are 6 children: Richard Fernsler (wife Ruth), Mary (Allen) Sutherly, Pat ( Lee) Rentschler, Dorothy (Jay) Light, Jayne Fernsler, Lynda Hardick; 19 Grandchildren; 32 Great Grandchildren; 10 Great Great Grandchildren; a sister, Esther Kline; and eight nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was a long time member of Christ Church United Church of Christ, the Stein Bee Sunday School Class, the Union Hose Fire Company, Annville and the Cleona Senior Citizens, and the Lebanon Valley Home Auxiliary. She loved flowers and enjoyed celebrating holidays, playing cards, and going out with friends. She had fond memories of corn roasts and hay rides on the farm, trips with friends, and life in Mt. Gretna where she and Sam often entertained visitors at the Jigger Shop. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM from Christ Church United Church of Christ, 200 S. White Oak Street, Annville, PA 17003, followed by a graveside service in Grand View Memorial Park. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 9-11 AM prior to the service at the Church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Christ Church. Arrangements by Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville.
