  Firestine, Nelson   
   
  Nelson Firestine, 91, formerly of Richland, Pa., died Saturday, December 13, 
  2008, at the Susquehanna Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Columbia, 
  Pa. He was the husband of the late Mildred (Mengel) Firestine, who died October 
  1, 2008. Born in Myerstown, Pa., on May 5, 1917, he was the son of the late 
  Harvey and Mary (Newcomer) Firestine. He served in the U.S. Navy during World 
  War II, and was employed by Bethlehem Steel, Lebanon, Pa., for many years, 
  retiring in 1979. He is survived by a daughter, Shirley, wife of Allan Holm of 
  Lancaster, Pa.; and a son, Richard, husband of Alice Firestine of Jackson, 
  Tennessee; grandchildren Pamela Sanders, Anita Hagelin and Nathan Holm; 
  greatgrandchildren April and Beth Ann Sanders; brother Howard Firestine of 
  Lewistown, Pa.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 
  brothers Walter and Colonel Firestine, and sister Della Wagner. Funeral 
  services will be held Friday, December 19, 2008, at 10 a.m. from Grose Funeral 
  Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, Pa. Viewing Friday at 9:30 a.m. 
  Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa. In lieu of 
  flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 
  3544 North Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
