  Verna E. Firestine, 83, of ManorCare Health Services, Lebanon, formerly of 
  Newmanstown, died Sunday, September 28, 2008, at Manor Care. She was the widow 
  of Jacob D. Firestine, who died August 7, 2005. Born in Lebanon, January 11, 
  1925, she was the daughter of the late Jacob A. and Lizzie M. (Bomberger) 
  Krall. She worked at Layser's Flowers of Myerstown, and various sewing 
  factories in the area, before retiring in 1984 from Bayer Corp., Myerstown. She 
  was a member of Elias UCC, Newmanstown, and enjoyed making art and wood 
  projects, gardening and sewing. She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly, wife 
  of Stan Smith Jr. of Richland; sons Kenneth Kline of Richland and Bruce, 
  husband of Debbie Kline of Myerstown; stepdaughters Eloise Firestine of Mt. 
  Joy, Eileen Kreiser of Manheim and Cathy, wife of Peter Zerbe of Richland; step-
  son Carlton Firestine of Reading; six grandchildren; and four great-
  grandchildren; sisters Anna Blatt of Lebanon, Erma Light of Robesonia, Esther, 
  wife of John Ulrich of Lebanon; brother Grant Krall of Lebanon; several nieces 
  and nephews; several greatnieces and greatnephews. She was preceded in death by 
  a sister, Mary Strauss; and brothers Cyrus, Harvey, Marvin, Herman, Warren and 
  Leon Krall. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 2, 2008, at 11 a.m. 
  from Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, Pa. Viewing 
  Thursday at 10 a.m. Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Myerstown, Pa. In lieu of 
  flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elias U.C.C., 9 N. Sheridan 
  Road, P.O. Box 265, Newmanstown, PA 17073.
