George, 59, of Lebanon, Pa., formerly of Myerstown, Pa., died Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon, Pa., surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Rose M. (Bechtel) George, to whom he was married 35 years on October 7. Born in Lebanon, Pa., on September 16, 1949, he was the son of the late Clinton and Verna A. (Thierwechter) George. He was a 1968 graduate of Northern Lebanon High School, and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for 33 years as a machinist at Ressler Enterprises/Peiffer Machine Shop, Mt. Aetna. He worshipped in the Protestant faith, and enjoyed working in his yard and flower beds. He enjoyed life and his friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Stacey Strunk of Bethel, Pa., Linda, wife of Michael Forry of Rehrersburg, Pa.; and a son, Jason George of Myerstown, Pa.; 12 grandchildren, sisters Irene, wife of Kenneth Miller of Grantville, Pa., and Kathleen, wife of Gary Masemore of Annville, Pa.; and a brother, Paul, husband of Betty George of Lebanon, Pa.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert George. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 13, 2008, at 11 a.m. from Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, Pa. Viewing Sunday, October 12, 2008, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., and Monday at 10 a.m. Interment at Grand View Memorial Park, Annville, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 1263, Lebanon, PA 17042; or the American Lung Association, 3001 Old Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
