George, 81, of Mount Wilson Road, Lebanon, died Saturday, November 22, 2008, in his home. Born September 28, 1927, in Big Spring, he was a son of the late Melvin and Cora Alberta (Rife) George. He retired from Hershey Foods with 49 years of service; was a member of Calvary Bible Church, Colebrook, and Chocolate Workers Union Local 464. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and enjoyed hunting, golfing, bowling, and playing cards. November 24th, he would have celebrated his 59th anniversary with his wife, June R. (Betz) George. Also surviving are his children, Robert M., husband of Alma George, Darlene F., widow of Otto Bender, Dale C., husband of Loraine George, and Donna J., wife of Ron Hoffer, all of Palmyra, and David L. George of Alabama; siblings Roger George of Virginia and Crystal George of Allentown; stepbrothers Sam Blauch of Hershey and Robert Blauch of Steelstown; six grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra. Viewings 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, and 10 – 11 a.m. Wednesday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Bible Church, PO Box 35, Lawn, PA 17041.
