Miller shabodeho@aol.com December 5, 2008, 9:34 pm Published in the Lebanon Daily News on 11/18/2008 Good, Gary Ray Gary Ray Good, 63, of Reamstown unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 15, 2008. Born in Vogansville, he was a son of the late David H. and Naomi (Snader) Good. He was married on February 24, 1962, to Mary Ellen Rudy, having celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary this year. He was an active member of Reamstown Church of God. He was an owner, partner and founder of Good's Disposal Service. He started the business 50 years ago, when he was 13 years old, with a wheel barrow in Ephrata, and the business grew to cover five counties. In 1970, Gary formed a partnership with his brother, Don. Good's Disposal is the largest family owned refuse company in Lancaster County. Gary was a pioneer in recycling. A very patriotic man, Gary also collected trash trucks and Pepsi memorabilia. He also worked for Miller Shoe factory in Akron. Gary was known for his hearty laugh. He loved spending time with his wife, family and grandchildren, and enjoyed his evenings with his German Sheppard, Deacon. In addition to his wife, Gary is survived by two sons, Steve R., husband of Susan (Redcay) Good of Reinholds, and Michael R., husband of Donna (Zuck) Good of Ephrata; two daughters, Karen L., wife of Rickey L. Saylor of New Berlin, and Sandra L., wife of Jeffrey L. Reifsnyder of Reamstown; a brother, Donald R., husband of Virginia (Reitz) Good of Ephrata; a sister, Marlene F., wife of George E. Mendenhall of Ephrata; nine grandchildren, Joshua, Kaitlyn, Brandan, and Sarah Good, Kelsey and Nathan Saylor, and Laurel, Emelia and Sawyer Reifsnyder. A viewing will be held at the Reamstown Church of God, 57 East Church Street, Reamstown, 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, and 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Pastor Arthur T. Karick will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Hahnstown United Zion Cemetery. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and neighbors. Flowers are welcome.
