  Miles B. Gress, 93, of Newmanstown died Wednesday, September 24, 2008, in ECC 
  Retirement Village, StoneRidge Campus, Myerstown, Pa. He was the husband of 
  Verna K. Sonnen Gress, with who he was married to for 63 years. He was born 
  January 15, 1915, in Blainsport, Lancaster County, a son of the late William G. 
  and Mary Bensing Gress. He was employed as a rural mail carrier for the 
  Newmanstown Post Office for 30 years. Miles was a U.S. Army World War II 
  veteran, serving 28 months of duty in India. He was a member of the Elias 
  United Church of Christ in Newmanstown, where he served on the church 
  consistory. He was a member of the Ephrata VFW, Post 3376, and enjoyed 
  gardening, fishing and hunting. Surviving in addition to his wife are children 
  Mary Ann Zimmerman of Newmanstown, Martha Louise Weiman of Harrisburg, Paul W., 
  husband of Carol Gress of Bay Village, Ohio; grandchildren Dawn Weiman, Robert, 
  husband of Rebekah Weiman, Sarah, wife of Matthew Orlousky, Aaron Gress; and 
  four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers Roy, Mark and 
  Stanley Gress. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Elias 
  United Church of Christ, North Sheridan Road, Newmanstown, with a viewing 
  beginning on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Millbach Cemetery. 
  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Elias UCC, P.O. Box 265, 
  Newmanstown, PA 17073. Clauser Funeral Home Inc. is handling the arrangements.
