  Robert A. Gruber, 77, of Myerstown, Pa., died Thursday, June 5, 2008, at his 
  residence. He was the husband of Arlene L. (Groff) Gruber, to whom he was 
  married 55 years on October 18. Born in Lebanon, Pa., on April 22, 1931, he was 
  the son of the late Wilson A. and Elizabeth E. (Shay) Gruber. A 1949 graduate 
  of Lebanon High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. 
  He had been an insurance agent for Nationwide Insurance in Myerstown for 26 
  years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Grace UCC, Lebanon, Pa.; a lifetime 
  member of the Keystone Hook & Ladder Fire Co., Myerstown; a volunteer for the 
  Salvation Army, where he was active with the canteen truck; and had been a 
  former treasurer of the Lebanon County Fireman's Association. In addition to 
  his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Diane L., wife of Bruce Eckert of 
  Centerville, Pa; and a son, Daniel R., husband of Ann L. Gruber of Myerstown, 
  Pa.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Judith L., wife 
  of James Light of Myerstown, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral 
  services will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at 11 a.m. from Grose Funeral 
  Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, Pa. Viewing Monday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m., 
  and Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, 
  Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace UCC, 1000 
  S. Fifth Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042.
