Habig, 71, of Palmyra passed away October 8, 2008, at the Hershey Medical Center. Edris was born in Mifflin County on March 19, 1937, the daughter of the late Harry Habig and Muriel (Rhan) Habig. Edris was a graduate of Philadelphia Academy. She attended Columbia Union College in Maryland, and was a 1961 graduate of Atlantic Union College in Massachusetts. She earned her master's degree from Shippensburg University in counseling. She has been employed as a dean, a teacher, and a rehabilitation counselor. She was a strong proponent of Christian education. She was a charter member of the Hershey Seventh Day Adventist Church. She has served as Sabbath School superintendent and teacher. Also, as elder, Women's Ministry leader, Church School Board representative, Vacation Bible School teacher, and Church Board member. She was a volunteer at the Hershey Medical Center. She enjoyed reading and traveling, especially to state capitals and presidents' homes. She is survived by many loving cousins, friends, and church family. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2008, at 5:30 p.m. at her church. Edris requested instead of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to the Hershey Seventh Day Adventist Church, 610 West Chocolate Avenue, Hershey, PA 17033.
