Miller shabodeho@aol.com February 11, 2008, 11:00 am Published in the Lebanon Daily News on 1/22/2008 Harris, Shirlee Hartman Freeman (Ream) Shirlee Hartman Ream Freeman Harris LEBANON Shirlee Hartman Ream Freeman Harris, 74, Lebanon, entered into rest with the Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 20, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. She was born August 30, 1933, in Ogden Township, Delaware County, Pa., and moved to Lebanon when she was one year old. She is the daughter of the late Mae Viola Hartman Ream Edris Achey and Harry Edward Ream. She was the former wife of the late Walter Cleveland Freeman and Edwin Clarence Harris, Lebanon. She attended Lebanon High School, later attaining her GED. She loved collecting books and her many antiques of which she was very proud. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church and the former St. Paul's E.U.B. Church, Lebanon, for 50 years. In her younger years, she was active in Sunday school projects and Bible study. She loved working with people, especially little children, and volunteered at the local food bank and Cub Scouts. She worked for the Lebanon County Head Start and Northwest Elementary School as a teacher's aide. She was instrumental in getting a library at the former Independent Boro School, the red light signal at Fifth and Lehman streets, and crossing guards on the northside. She had been president of the PTA at the former Garfield-Lincoln schools. She had worked at several downtown stores and had owned and operated a craft and gift shop at her home and a direct sales business. When younger she worked as a nurse's aide at the former old county home and as a dance teacher at the Arthur Murray Studios in Harrisburg. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. She is survived by her loving sons, Gregory Alan Harris and wife Barbara, Harrisburg, Edwin Scott Harris, Lebanon; daughters, Jan Louise Harris, Lebanon, Pamela Lynn, wife of Ray Reinbold, Jonestown; her darling grandchildren, Gregory Ernest Harris and Hillary Anita Harris, Harrisburg, Samantha Lee Arroyo, fianc"e of David M. Peiffer, Lebanon, Danielle Lee Arroyo, Lebanon, Dakota John Arroyo, Lebanon, Russell Anthony Read II, Jonestown, David Ray Reinbold, Harrisburg, Rebecca Mae, wife of Steve Krum, Annville; her precious greatgrandchildren, Bryce Haden Archer, Lebanon, Michael David Gladfelter and Alexander Nicholas Krum, both of Annville; her wonderful family of brother, Harry Rodger Ream and wife Helen, Lebanon; sisters, Grace Mae Bicksler, Lebanon, Gladys Miriam Hostetter, Lebanon; many many loving nieces, nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by daughter Susan Michele Harris, brother William F. Ream, her sister Emma Minerva Ream, and her beloved pets. Funeral service Thursday at 1 p.m. in Covenant United Methodist Church, 346 N. Ninth St., Lebanon. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening 7 to 9 p.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home Inc., Fifth and Cumberland streets, Lebanon, and 12 to 1 p.m. Wednesday in her church.
