Miller shabodeho@aol.com April 26, 2008, 4:07 pm Published in the Lebanon Daily News on 4/10/2008 Hart, Rose Bender Rose Bender Hart NAPLES, FL Rose Bender Hart, 86, loving wife of James F. Hart Jr., passed away peacefully on April 4, 2008, in Naples, Florida, surrounded by her husband and family. Rose was born in Lebanon, Pa., in 1921, daughter of Magdelan Glennon Bender and Charles Bender. She graduated from Lebanon Catholic High School at age 16, graduated cum laude from Catholic University, and received her R.N. from Providence Hospital. She served as a U.S. Army nurse during World War II, rising to the rank of captain, and saw extensive action in the Italian Campaign aboard the USS Thistle. While stationed at Camp Shanks, N.Y., she met her future husband, Army Lieutenant James Hart. After the war they were married. A devoted and loving couple, they celebrated their life together each day as they raised six children at their home in Wilmington, Del. Rose was a devout Catholic and a long time member of the St. Mary Magdalen Church. An avid reader, she also enjoyed playing bridge and long walks on the beach at their summer home in Stone Harbor, N.J. Rose will be sadly missed by her dedicated husband of 61 years, James, and her children and their spouses, Kay and Edward Latch, Rose and Stephen Seningen, James and Barbara Hart III, Alexis Hart, David Hart and Greg and Beth Hart; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; and her brother, John Bender of Melbourne, Fla. Visitation will be at St. Joseph's on the Brandywine at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Internment will be at Cathedral Cemetery.
