Hartman, 88, of East Main Street, Palmyra, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. Born July 18, 1919, in Cross Keys, Virginia, he was a son of the late Benjamin C. and Rosa Ann (Kersey) Hartman, the widower of Pauline W. Hartman, who died in 1985, and was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. He was former owner of Hartman's Garage, Palmyra; was a member of Palmyra Church of the Brethren, Palmyra VFW No. 6417, Palmyra American Legion No. 72; and was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Arlene (Brightbill) Hartman; children Elaine K., wife of James Burns of Hershey, Linda H., wife of David Smith of Palmyra, Robin L., husband of Lynn Hartman of Lewisberry, and Bradley C., husband of Bonnie Hartman of Palmyra; 10 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 20 greatgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Palmyra Church of the Brethren, 45 North Chestnut Street, Palmyra. Viewings will be held 7 – 9 p.m. Wednesday at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra, and 9 – 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
