Main St., Annville, formerly of Maple Terrace, Lebanon, died Saturday, December 13, 2008, in the Lebanon Valley Home, Annville. He was the husband of the late Irene C. Lengel Hartman. He was born October 23, 1914, in Lebanon, a son of the late Mattie Hartman. He was a retired employee of the Reading Railroad, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. John was a member of the St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Lebanon; Lebanon VFW; Rescue Fire Co. No. 4, Lebanon; and the Glen Lebanon Fire Co. He is survived by nieces Marie Chadwick, Beth Kleinfelter, both of Lebanon, Sally Raymond of Jonestown; nephews William Englebach of Lebanon, James Englebach, M.D.; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by nieces Catherine Eversole and Betty Hobbs. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home, Fifth and Cumberland streets, Lebanon, with a viewing beginning on Tuesday at 1 p.m. Interment will be made in the Ebenezer "Greenwood" Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Rescue Fire Co. No. 4, Fourth and Lehman streets, Lebanon, PA 17046.
