(Hoffman) Hartman, 86, of Palmyra died peacefully in her residence on Saturday, July 5, 2008. She was the wife of the late Wayne C. Hartman, who died July 5, 1978. She was born on May 8, 1922, in Palmyra to Monroe L. and Mary Fox Hoffman. She retired as a crossing guard in the Palmyra Area School District. She also was a teacher's aide at the Pine Street Elementary School for many years. She was a longtime member of the Trinity United Church of Church of Christ, where she was a former custodian for 20 years, a Sunday school teacher for the kindergarten class, and enjoyed playing in the hand bell choir. She served for more than 30 years for the Citizen's Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary as their treasurer, and also as a chaplain for the Lebanon County Fireman's Association Auxiliary. She was a past president for the American Legion Post No. 72 Ladies Auxiliary and the Annville American Legion Post Ladies Auxiliary. She is the last of her family. Her husband and her son, Ronald W. Hartman, preceded her in death. Friends are invited for a time of viewing on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, from 9-10 at the Trinity United Church of Christ, 40 W. Pine St., Palmyra, followed by her funeral at 10 with the Rev. John Binkley officiating. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery.
