Miller shabodeho@aol.com October 1, 2008, 1:58 am Published in the Lebanon Daily News on 9/23/2008 Harvey, Wilmer Lathan Wilmer Lathan Harvey of Appomattox, Va., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and greatgrandfather, passed away September 22, 2008. Born in Appomattox County, October 17, 1921, Mr. Harvey was the son of Lytton and Etta Martin Harvey. Lathan proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Navy as a chief gunners mate aboard the U.S.S. Yorktown CV-10. He worked for the C&O Railroad for 15 years, and retired from Westvaco. He is survived by his loving wife, Paige Tatum Harvey; son William L. Harvey and wife Rita of Lebanon, Pa.; grandson Senior Airman William Marshall Harvey and wife Anita; greatgranddaughter Cadence Rose Harvey, all of Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.; step- grandson B. Kyle Martin; sister Birdie Harvey, both of Appomattox; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at Robinson Funeral Home, Appomattox, Va. Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today (Tuesday) from 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials contributions be sent to the American Legion Post No. 104, Building Fund, PO Box 584, Appomattox, VA 24522. Robinson Funeral Home and Cremation Service is serving the family.
