  Larry J. Heffner, 72, of Ephrata, Pa., formerly of Lebanon, Pa., passed away on 
  Thursday, October 9, 2008, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was married to 
  Karen L. (Zimmerman) Heffner, and was the son of the late Jackson and Mildred 
  (Hassinger) Heffner. Larry was born in Thompsonville, Pa., and, in 1955, 
  graduated from Elizabethtown High School. He had been a member of St. Matthews 
  Lutheran Church in Lebanon since 1956, was a 32nd degree Mason in Mt. Lebanon 
  Lodge No. 226, and also served in the U.S. Army with the Army Corps of 
  Engineers. As a manager of Special Services, Larry retired in 2007 from PRL 
  Industries in Cornwall, Pa. He had been employed there since 1961, and had 
  formerly worked for the Lebanon Steel Foundry and Quaker Alloys in Myerstown, 
  Pa. He was a member of ASME and AWS, and was a past chairman. In addition to 
  his wife, he is survived by two sons, Randolph A. Heffner, married to Mariellen 
  (Reiniger) of Pipersville, Pa., and Sean P. Carter of Ephrata, Pa.; a grandson, 
  Benjamin P. Heffner of Pipersville; a brother, Glenn A. Heffner, and his wife, 
  Dottie of Lebanon; a sister, Mary, wife of Jack Kleckner of Mifflintown, Pa.; 
  nine nieces; and seven nephews. Larry was preceded in death by a brother, 
  Richard Heffner; and a sister, Dolores McNelley. Services will be scheduled at 
  a later date. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to
