Dorothy E. Heisler, 93, of the Countryside Christian Community, North Annville Township, and formerly of Lewistown Valley Tamaqua, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2008, at the home. Born in Richland on May 25, 1914, she was the daughter of the late William B. and Lizzie Bickel Dry, and the wife of the late Ammon Kegerreis and the late Samuel J. Heisler. She had worked at the former Milson Mills in Richland, the Richland Shoe Factory, and for a number of years she owned and operated a meat and cheese market at the Leesport Market. She provided domestic cleaning services, and she was a member of the former Bible Covenant Church in Allentown, a member of the Berks County Farm Women and the Berks County Flower Club, and a former member of the Lebanon Valley Gospel Band. For 10 years, she served as the cook and the Seyfert Camp, and also served as cook at the Friendsville, Tenn., Christian School. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and especially caring for her family and her friends. She is survived by her step-sons, Clyde, husband of Dolores Heisler of Northampton, Glenn, husband of Esther Heisler of Cressona, Wendell, husband of Beverly Heisler of Tamaqua, and Adam Heisler of Jonestown; a sister, Mary Boltz of Myerstown; 11 grandchildren; and several greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kay Kegerreis; brothers George, Paul and Samuel Dry; and sisters Martha Jones and Ella Dry. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 23, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the God's Missionary Church, 2127 Hill St., Lebanon, Pa. Viewing will be Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the church, and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Kochenderfer's Cemetery. Strauss-Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home, Jonestown, is handling the arrangements.
