Herman, 67, of 1531 Sholly Ave., Lebanon, died Monday, April 21, 2008, in the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Catherine H. Prislupski Herman. Born in Olyphant, Pa., on September 21, 1940, he was the son of the late Thomas and Alyce Hearn Herman. He was a retired truck driver for the former Maislan Transport Co. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local No. 401, Olyphant American Legion, and The Church of St. Cecilia. He was a graduate of Scranton High School, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Nascar fan and was an avid golfer. He was a loving father who enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was an U.S. Army veteran. Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Michelle, wife of Daniel Schmidt of Lebanon, Richard, husband of Lynn Herman of Bethlehem, Kimberly Herman of Hazelton and Randy Herman of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Richard, Sierra, Alexandra, Bryce and Meckanzie; two sisters, Catherine Matthews of Hamlin and Barbara of California; four brothers, Francis Herman of Scranton, Gene Herman of New Jersey, William Herman of Florida and Thomas Herman of Georgia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frederick and Jack Herman; and one sister; Alice Herman. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 3 p.m. from The Church of St. Cecilia, 202 E. Lehman St., Lebanon 17046. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be held Friday from 2-3 at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lebanon VA Hospital Hospice Program, 1700 S. Lincoln Ave., Lebanon 17042. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., 126 S.
