Herr, 81, died peacefully Monday, April 28th, at Essa Flory Hospice Center with her family by her side. She was the widow of Hebron H. Herr, with whom she observed almost 60 years of marriage. Marian was born in Refton on August 17, 1926, a daughter of the late Galen and Estella Ressler Andrew. Marian will be lovingly missed by a son, Fred A., married to Carol Wentz Herr of Willow Street; and a daughter, Debra J. Herr of Abbottstown; three grandchildren, F. Andrew, married to Lisa Herr, Jacquelyn B., married to Tim Eckman, Jennifer Y., married to Mark Rogoze; five greatgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; two step-great-greatgrandchildren; a sister, Joanne, married to Melvin Peifer of Lititz. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert A., Donald E. and the Rev. Wilmer J.; and a sister, A. Hilda Andrew. Marian graduated from Strasburg High School in 1944. Marian was previously a longtime resident of Mount Gretna, where she served as a tax collector for many years. She also worked in administrative capacities with several local firms, where she built lifelong friendships. Marian was an accomplished artist and painter. Her paintings adorn the homes of many family and friends. Active in the Mount Gretna arts community, Marian enjoyed helping with the annual art show. Marian's work was also commissioned by the Strasburg High School Alumni Association to commemorate the school in 1994. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg and the Red Hat Society. Marian enjoyed spending winters in Florida with Heb. Most of all, she cherished the friends and family who were the central focus of her life. Her legacy is the tears in the eyes of all those who now miss her dearly. Memorial services will be held from the Chapel at Willow Valley, 2416 Willow Street Pike, Lancaster, Pa., on Thursday, May 1, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Dennis W. Andrew officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Kindly omit flowers.
