  Bertha I. Hicks, 86, of Fry Village, Middletown, formerly of Annville and 
  Palmyra, died Monday, June 30, 2008, in her residence. She was the wife of the 
  late Wallace C. Hicks Jr., who died in 2006. Born in Annville on July 15, 1921, 
  she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Alice Fasnacht Strickler Fake. 
  She was a retired seamstress from Colebrook Lingerie and, prior to that, worked 
  at Annville Dress. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, 
  Annville, where she helped in the nursery; a member of the Annville American 
  Legion Auxiliary; and served as a volunteer at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. 
  Surviving are a son, Randy W. Hicks and companion Ruth Chubb of Mechanicsburg; 
  four grandchildren, Wanda, wife of Robert Livering, Peggy, wife of Arlen 
  Zechman, Steven, husband of Anita Hitz, and Clarence (Billy) Hitz Jr. and wife 
  Deborah; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three sisters, 
  Dorothy F. Uhrich of Middletown, Grace Gibble of Annville, and Annie Bordlemay 
  of Hummelstown; and a son-in-law, Clarence Hitz Sr. of Lebanon. She was 
  preceded in death by a daughter, Judith A. Hitz; four brothers, Charles Fake 
  Jr., Arthur A. Fake, Richard R. Fake, and Thomas Wentling; and a sister, Eva 
  Hummer. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. 
  from the Kreamer Funeral Home, 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment in 
  Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Tuesday from 
  9:3010:30 a.m. prior to the service.
