  Hite Sr., Charles E.   
   
  Charles E. Hite Sr., age 71, of 1172 Dartmouth Road, Hummelstown, died 
  Thursday, December 11, 2008, in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He is the 
  husband of Darla J. (Knight) McKeownHite. He was born in Harrisburg on August 
  7, 1937, to Franklin Daniel and Frances E. Wert Hite. His first wife, Ruth 
  Bradley Hite, preceded him in death. He retired after 35 years from Hershey 
  Foods, working on the loading docks of the cocoa bean department. He loved 
  camping, the outdoors and bird watching. He can be remembered as always smiling 
  and everybody's friend. Surviving in addition to his wife, Darla, is his 
  father, Franklin D. Hite of Campbelltown; his daughters, Cynthia D., wife of 
  Mark Todd of Denver, Penelope J., wife of Scot Hoffman of Hershey, Charleen E., 
  wife of Greg Simmers of Parkesburg; 10 grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; 
  sisters Jennie Dimeler of Palmyra, Margie Boughter of Arkansas; brothers James 
  Hite of Palmyra and Robert Hite of Jonestown. A son, Charles E. Hite Jr.; and 
  brothers Edward Hite, Franklin Hite Jr., and George Hite, preceded him in 
  death. Relatives and friends are invited for a time of viewing on Wednesday, 
  December 17, 2008, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Rothermel Funeral Home Inc., 25 
  W. Pine St., Palmyra, followed by his funeral with the Rev. Samuel D. Fry 
  officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, 
  memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, 
  7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
