  Robert L. Hoffman, Jr., 82, of Jonestown, passed away on Friday August 29, 2008 
  at the Hollidaysburg Veteran's Home. He was the husband of Helen M. Carr 
  Hoffman, and on Oct. 30th, they would have celebrated their 62nd wedding 
  anniversary. Born in Halifax on October 1, 1925, he was the son of Robert L. 
  Sr., and Margaret P. Hoffman Hoffman. He was a member of the Trinity United 
  Methodist Church in Lickdale, the American Legion, and was a WW II veteran of 
  the US Army Air Corp, where as a tail gunner he flew eight missions over 
  Germany. In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons Lynn D. husband of 
  Salee Hoffman of Altoona, Jay Robert Hoffman of Jonestown; daughters Carol P. 
  Landis of Harrisonburg, VA and Wendy M. wife of Michael Brendle of Lebanon; 
  grandchildren Lori S. Bennnett husband Ray, Robert D. Yordy wife Jennifer, 
  Ronald Magno, Nikki Landes, Dr. Tamara L. Hoffman husband Todd Kochler, LTJG 
  Tracy L. Harp husband Lee, Christopher M. Brendle wife Sarah, Alicia M. 
  Brendle, Gregory M. Hoffman, Jr., David Hoffman, Megan Hoffman, eight great 
  grandchildren, one great great grandson, and nine brothers and sisters. He was 
  preceded in death by his son Gregory M. Hoffman. Funeral services will be held 
  on Thursday September 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist 
  Church, 98 Fisher Ave., Jonestown, and a viewing will be held Wed. evening from 
  6:008:00 pm at the StraussKreamer & Lum Funeral Home, 48 W. Market St. 
  Jonestown, and prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Grand 
  View Memorial Park, N. Annville Twp.
