  Grantville - Mabel E. Housel, 85, of Austin Drive passed away on Saturday 
  morning, Nov. 15, 2008, at her home. She was born Sept. 24, 1923, in Penns 
  Creek, a daughter of the late Chester M. and Naomi (Yerger) Shaffer. On Aug. 
  11, 1945, she married Charles R. Housel, who survives. She was a 1941 graduate 
  of Selinsgrove High School. She was a member of Botschaft "Grubbs" Lutheran 
  Church, Mount Pleasant Mills. She was a member of Chapter 222, Order of the 
  Eastern Star, Selinsgrove. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two 
  daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie A. Housel and David W. Houseal of Palmyra, 
  and Alice M. and Eugene "Bud" Bracken of Lititz; three sons and daughtersin 
  law, Craig A. and Bonnie Housel of Palmyra, David C. and Patty Housel of 
  Lockport, N.Y., and Daniel C. and Julie Quermback-Housel of Getzville, N.Y.; 12 
  grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one 
  brother, George W. Shaffer; and her stepmother, Anna Shaffer. Visitors may call 
  from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Botschaft "Grubbs" Lutheran Church, 2148 
  Hoffer Road, Mt. Pleasant Mills, followed by a memorial service at 1, with the 
  Rev. Timothy W. Bingman officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church 
  cemetery. Contributions in Mabel's memory may be made to PinnacleHealth 
  Hospice, 3705 Elmwood Drive, Harrisburg 17110; or to Botschaft "Grubbs" 
  Lutheran Church, 2148 Hoffer Road, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853. Arrangements 
  by the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg.
